1. Find a face lotion that doesn't irritate your face. Oil of Olay worked well for a long time, then started to irritate my face. Then the Day Cream from Havvn worked best for me. But I think they changed their formula, because the new one I have doesn't smell like peppermint and doesn't work as well. Havvn has also discontinued most of their products and is going out of business. I've been using Mary Kay's facial lotion right after showering. That works most of the time, but sometimes I need to add some additional doTerra cream when my face feels dry the next morning.
2. Exfoliation: My skin is too sensitive for most creams or scrubs. I found that using my fingernails in the shower works best. Because my fingernails are damp and soft, they don't irritate my skin - yet they are able to scrape off all the dirt and grime that my washcloth and scrub can't. Rubbing my hands against my body (while not directly under water) also helps get rid of excess skin in other areas.
3. Showering/Washing hair everyday is time consuming and may not be good for your hair. I'd rather take a longer shower every other day rather than a quick shower every day. Bath days (for me and the kids) are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights.
